this seller actually has sold many high priced (several hundred dollars) items, but he/she sells native american items. Not computers. This account has been hijacked. STAY AWAY (and notify the real owner of the account).
 
People are always trying to steal my eBay password. I get an e-mail every other week with people trying to hack my eBay account.

This account has obviously been hijacked.

I decided to go ahead and buy one though...just for the fun of it.
 
I guess I won't be getting my $800 Powerbook after all, what a shame. Here's the e-mail I got from eBay:

We have recently cancelled listings for 'garygrouse' as we investigate the possibility that an unauthorized person has compromised this user’s account. Such an unauthorized person may have posed as 'garygrouse' without the knowledge or authorization of 'garygrouse'. The legitimate account user will be notified about this possible compromise. Our records indicate that you were a participating bidder or buyer in the above listing involving the seller account of 'garygrouse'. The item number in that listing was: 2763221647. Please consider this listing and transaction as cancelled. With respect to this transaction, please do NOT complete this transaction and do NOT send any payment or money to the claimed seller.

Although we have taken measures to help correct this situation, you should disregard any email or correspondence from anybody who encourages you to send payment or money to complete this transaction. You should disregard such an email or correspondence even if the person claims to be an eBay representative or the seller in this transaction. This transaction will not be reevaluated by eBay in the future.
 
im suprised it took you an email from ebay to realize this is a scam, as well as you having to ask a whole mac community. whatever happened to common sense.

Glad I Didn't bid.. :p I'm typically pretty Good at determining scams, but my Scam finder isn't workin' right now.. :-|
