Is this a sign of faulty hardware or software

OK, so before I call Apple on Monday I need to know.

My 4S with newly resorted 5.0.1 and setup as new is doing the following (was doing this before the restore)

Settings app keeps crashing intermittently.

Phone has now turned itself off twice and only a hard reset restarts it.

Intermittently when I make a phone call the other party can her me but I can't hear them. When this happens as I place a call I don't hear the ear speaker ringing, just silence and then the call connects, and the call timer starts. I hang up and place the call again, this time it goes through normaly.


I'm leaning towards hardware as I have an iPhone 4 and iPad 2 on 5.0.1 and they are working flawlessly.

You have read the long threads on the No audio when calling or receiving a calls, have you itsmemuffins? I tend to believe its a hardware issue but others think its software. Apple has not mentioned this as of yet and that is another problem......

I get sim lock popping up now as well.

The Settings app crashes for me too (didn't happen with 5.0). I'm not having any other issues so hopefully 5.0.2 fixes the crashing.

My wife's iPhone 4S would freeze up daily and we took it back and got a new one. It was hardware.
