Hi all

First time posting here but this is frustrating me, I'm loving this MacBook Pro 16inch, upgraded from an early 2013 (GPU is finally fried) but it's making me feel a bit dizzy when scrolling through web pages due to the text becoming fuzzy, is this just excessively bad on my model (I know there is a high response time in general for this screen), will I have better luck asking for a replacement and try again... or is this just the reality with this edition of the MacBook? If so that's a return really unusable till this issue is fixed, I would rather use 2013 with non-working GPU lol.

Images below, thx!

Yeah that’s ‘normal’. I assume you’re familiar with the thread I posted months ago, but the tldr is: this is the 16” screen, the slowest pixel refresh rate on a MacBook Pro so far. I returned mine and I’ve gone for the 2020 13” because I know that screen, whilst not fast, is not as unbearable as the 16”.

YMMV, however, as we’ve seen in the responses to that thread.

Well you don’t know really, it’s a new machine. Just because the screen isn’t a different size to before doesn’t mean it’s the same screen.

True but given no chassis or screen increase you can pretty much bet it is the same, especially when the lower end one is identical. Time will tell :)

I do not understand the people who defend this terrible display of mbp 16. Why do they ignore that this display is one of the worst displays about pixel response time and refresh rate. If i pay so much money to a device and if it is labeled as pro, so i do not want to NOTICE THE TERIBBLE TEXT SMEARING AND IMAGE GHOSTING ON A VERY SIMPLE SCROLL ACTION!!! This is my right to expect a quality display about dynamic view.

Everyone who defends this display talks about color accuracy but THIS IS NOT A PRINTER, this is a monitor which has to view dynamic changing images. Everyone knows that this is not a gaming laptop but please God sake if a pro premium device can not produce stable scrolling experience, if pixels get crazy on a basic web page scroll THERE MUST BE A PROBLEM ABOUT THIS AND PEOPLE HAVE RIGHT TO COMPLAIN.

ENDUSER EXPERIENCE and FEEDBACK is holly and if people did not complain about butterfly keyboard or physical escape key, today we would still using them.

But there is another truth... People buy these devices with their earnings. It is not easy to buy a new product every single year. I think there must be a law in silicon walley: if the a new Version product has worse options than the previous one, it should not be allowed to manufacture or sell to people...
