I have the AirPods set so the toggle is Transparency or Noise Cancelling, and that's how they work with my iPhone and M1 MBP, but on my older late 2013 MBP running Catalina when the pods are connected to that computer, they only switch between Noise Cancelling or Off, but in the drop down menu for sound in the menu bar I do have the choice to set Transparency mode, so the computer does seem to support transparency but when connected to the AirPods Pro the toggle switch for Transparency changes to OFF.

This is puzzling for two reasons 1 the switch is in the pods and has nothing to do with the computer, and 2. transparency can be selected via the computer.

Wondering if this is some simple bug that can be fixed or maybe it's a hardware problem in the old mbp.
