Not even the full 1 year and already that much and only with 268 cycles?
I think so. If you spend anytime in any EV forum/subreddit people really concern themselves over battery degradation and comparing to others etc. I’m not sure I get the battery obsession on either car or phone it’s not something I regularly think about 😅Why do people obsess over the battery capacity so much ?
Is it range anxiety like new EV drivers have ?
Unless the battery is constantly regenerating like nuclear, it's expected to drop over time/use......
Yes agreed - I hear it all the time as I am an EV forum admin and FB moderator on social media.I think so. Why wouldn't they do it if one were to pay for it? Is that their policy? No. Apple won’t replace your battery, even if you pay them.
Battery health number never go down linearly. Don’t worry about it unless you notice a substantial drop in your battery life.
Not entirely sure if that’s their policy or not but Apple refused my battery replacement attempt before when health number barely reaches 80%. They say it’s ok. Apple may just want to save money on buying more batteries for what they might argue “frivolous claims”, such as one shown in OP.Why wouldn't they do it if one were to pay for it? Is that their policy?
That doesn't see unusual. I'm at 224 cycles and 95% with identical dates as yours. I fully expect mine to be around 90% by the time I get to 268 cycles.View attachment 2416382

ABC, and ABCF, always be charging fast. I need my phone to have power when I want to use it! I'm never worried about prolonging its life to the point that i'd let it detriment MY life.Yes agreed - I hear it all the time as I am an EV forum admin and FB moderator on social media.
I never obsess or stress over battery capacity - I just drive my EV and use my devices as they were intended.
But I do believe in practicing "ABC" = Always Be Charging.

I contribute much because I use my Ultra 2 instead of pulling my phone out. I agree I am not a heavy.87 cycles in 1 year? With my usage it adds 1 cycle every 2 days. It looks like you don't use your iPhone as much as others do. I am impressed with your results after 1 year. ☺️
I wouldn't say that for everyone. 10% drop in battery capacity is pretty noticeable if you normally can run iphone until 6 pm and now only runs until 4 pm.not even noticeable in regular use.
The EU requires 83% after 500 cycles, so that seems to be in line. Not even the full 1 year and already that much and only with 268 cycles?
Yeah that's not how percentages work.I wouldn't say that for everyone. 10% drop in battery capacity is pretty noticeable if you normally can run iphone until 6 pm and now only runs until 4 pm.
that's exactly how losing battery capacity works.Yeah that's not how percentages work.
Correct - by the time the battery loses some capacity, it will be 1 or 2 years and then onto another new iPhone.ABC, and ABCF, always be charging fast. I need my phone to have power when I want to use it! I'm never worried about prolonging its life to the point that i'd let it detriment MY life.
Unpopular opinion, but Apple shouldn't have made battery health as verbose. A simple pass/fail, as reported by Mobile Resource Inspector (MRI) at the Genius Bar, is enough. When most end users see a number below 100% they get spooked, despite knowing very well no battery lasts forever. Why do people obsess over the battery capacity so much ?

Very correct opinion and agree 100%.Unpopular opinion, but Apple shouldn't have made battery health as verbose.
