Just upgraded the RAM in my 2011 27" iMac i7, from 12GB to 24GB. was just wondering if the memory usage that shows on my Activity Monitor seems normal and healthy. I appreciate the feedback!

Your computer isn't even using 4GB of RAM in the attached photo.

Sorry guys. It’s actually the first Mac I’ve had. Just wanted to ask. The memory I just bought was from a company called TimeTec. They had great reviews on Amazon, and I just wanted to be sure I got it right.

Ok. The thing that matters is the Memory Pressure graph. If it’s green you’re good. Don’t make a habit of looking for problems though. That’s obsession.

It might be normal for you*, what was your memory utilisation like before the upgrade?

It doesn't look like you've got much running at the time you took the screenshot, what does it look like with your normal programs open and after ~24-48hrs of use?

*mem usage is going to be a result of what programs you run and what you do with them, beyond obvious issues like a single process hogging more than it should it's always hard to say what is normal for any given user without knowing more about what they actually do with their system.

eg: I have one machine where it's normal to only ever be using about 1-1.4GB, I have another that is constantly pegged using 32-48GB and ideally needs more, both are 'normal' for their given use cases.
