Just wondering- How's the iPhone's 3G speed around the country? (or Worldwide)
I'm not too sure how it works (Kbps/Ping) so I wouldn't know If NYC speed is as fast as other areas.

Post some of your test here too. I'd like to see what we're averaging.

I wish I could get anywhere near that.
Speeds are awful in the UK. Fastest I've got is around 1.8Mbps on Orange, and 2.3Mbps on Three. Average is around 1Mbps. But thats if I'm lucky enough to actually get 3G signal. Having to rely on EDGE or even GPRS is not nice.

Yeah, I average just under 2 megabits (down) and barely get a signal at work (no 3G either). AT&T sucks here. Verizon, on the other hand is a hell of a lot faster and I can't wait till they get the iPhone. I'll actually have service at work too!

That's HSPA+ baby. iPhone 4 should have had HSPA+ capability, just like the 3gs should have had HSUPA..

To the OP, what part of NYC did you run that test?

My 3G speeds are good enough for me. Thought that was fast until i seen some of the speeds y'all have....

My fastest speed has been 1912 kbps down and 1268 kbps up, but most of the time it is much slower. I have the iPhone 4. I wish it was faster.

How can I change the server to an area near me? The choices offered are in the midwest, but I am in the south. I can change the area in the US on my computer, but have not seen that option on the phone.

At the web site of Speed Test, there was a "questions answered" area.
The answer to my question of why I have the wrong choices of servers is there is a bug that may get updated.

Anyone else have this problem?

ABout the only problem I had was that I would get stuck on servers that were slow.
