Hi guys and girls,

I'm interested in getting an Apple watch and one of the reasons is that I do alot of English tutoring which is time sensitive and I need to make sure I'm covering everything in the time without making it look obvious that I'm keeping track of time.

Is there anyway for me to set the watch to vibrate at set intervals during an hour or on a timer without any sound or display on the watch? Just a vibrate to allow me to note the time passed etc

Has anyone had any experience with something like that?

many thanks

Yes. There are two ways you could do this without additional apps -

The Alarm app (built in) goes off at set times (like an alarm, lol), but if the watch is silent then it just vibrates on your wrist. I use this as my morning alarm clock so I don't wake the wife (I get up 3 hours before her). Also has a snooze function.

Second is the Timer app. Set to 30 minutes or whatever and it will vibrate at the end, again, the Watch must be on silent for this. There are stop and repeat options at the end.

This MAY display stuff on the screen. I'm not entirely sure. I'll test that today and post again. I suspect there are alarm apps from third parties that will do this too.

Edit: Just tested both. The display does not light up when the alarm goes. It just vibrates. If you then lift your arm to look at the display, it does display the alarm, but it doesn't by default. This could possibly be disabled by turning off "Lift to wake", forcing you to tap the screen each time you want the display to come on. But yes, by default, both Alarms and Timer do what you're needing it to do. I'd possibly recommend buying a cheap second hand one on eBay to make sure it works in the little ways you'd want it to.
