Is this folder corrupt?

I was doing some compositing in Acorn and added a photo from a folder without any problems. When I went to Finder to look for another photo in the same folder it looked like this (see attachment) in List View.

I couldn't open anything and all other views showed nothing. I then opened Time Machine and every instance of the same folder was just the same, also my SuperDuper clone on another external drive was the same.


Fortunately, I had other backups and I restored the folder and then all the TM backups were there again!!

I just don't get it, any suggestions please of what that could be?
