No one seems to see this as rude as I do.

Since last fall, this weird guy keeps running his business out of our local tech college's library's lobby. From about 9am to 1:30 pm everyday he's there talking on his phone, sometimes quite loudly (though not yelling). I've talked with some of my coworkers about it. They said they havent' done anything about it because it's not a big deal to them and he's kind of rude.

I usually don't get upset about things like this. But this guy kind of pisses me off.
Anybody find this weird or even rude?

Rude? Sure. Clever? Hell yes!

Free internet? Peace and Quiet? That really can't be beat!

Well at my school he would have been asked to leave the lobby by now.

It's rude, but maybe just move to the back of the library?

Library "User"

Is the tech library for a private institution? Do they have library policies posted on their website or in the library? This sounds like a situation that would probably violate most libraries' policies, so I'd assume that talking to a librarian would take care of this issue. If it's a public library there may be no way to directly block the guy, but I'm sure they could ask him to keep the noise level down.

It's a public college so I'm sure there's not much the librarians can do which is why, probably, nothing has been done.

:/

I wouldn't mind as much if he didn't keep taking my favorite sitting spot during the year and if when I smiled and kind of said "hi" he wouldn't give a death glare.
