This is the add for an iBook. Is it a good deal??

"12" Apple iBook G4 laptop for $400. Very nice laptop, silent and slick, works perfectly. It has 21 Months of Apple Care warranty which is transferable.
Specs include 1.33GHz PowerPC G4 Processor, 512MB DDR SDRAM, 40GB HD, 12.1 Screen, Mac OS X version 10.4 Tiger, Airport Extreme Card"

Could I get Final Cut Express put on this thing and with an external HD do some basic editing and the burn it to DVD??

Thanks - I'm new to Macs

FCE would work, but don't expect very good performance.

But fr $400, I think it is a very good deal.

Yes, its still a very good laptop(for 400USD) I have the same model, and its runs any basic apps fine. Gargeband runs fine too...iMoive '06 can run, but its taxing(with only 512Mbs RAM)

Plus its 12'' which is nice and small

I wish i could find a deal like that. I wish ihad a laptop that was just there to screw around with. OH well..
