hey i was thinkig about getting this camera...

the only problem is that i heard when you import it onto the computer it is in .tod file formate...which apparently final cut does not support is this true? has anyone heard about any updates regarding this? thanks

don't get a hard drive based camcorder.... they don't play nice with FCP.

stick with a tape based camera.

The Canon HV20 is the right camcorder.

This camera is hard drive based, which will not work with FCP because of that .tod format problem you mentioned. It is possible to convert TOD to TS, and TS to MOV, but you will loose quality between each step and it will take a very long time.

It is best to find a tape-based digital camcorder, one that uses MiniDV or DVCAM.
