guys, as per topic, is this lcd on its way to its end or even worse! I mean the gpu ...

Actually i just guessed if it was the gpu. I dnt own this, so i dnt know.
All i know is that this is a 2.4Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo. 2GB, 667Mhz, DDR2, SDRAM.

I dnt think this fits under any of apples program. So what do you think it is .....

I believe the display panel is the second most expensive component next to the logic board. Most folks typically replace the laptop vs. repair it when it comes to the back light failing.

If you're looking to buy the machine, yes, you would be better served in looking for another model.

6 years....thats what the seller mentioned....i doubted it and suggested it must be almost 10. Later he mentioned it was 2008 model.

Also the ad desccription of 6/10 does not match the condition of the Mac. And the price ! U dnt want to know !

That's at the lastest a 2008 model, which a known ticking time bomb of a graphics card.

I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.

Actually ... I think that there is nothing wrong with the lcd.
I saw another 17" also with similar lines. I queried, more pics were sent. Realised that it was the photographic effect....
Tried it my self... With my ip6 on one of my mac, similar lines appeared though my mac was a running on an external monitor !
