Am looking to buy a Macbook Pro without spending a fortune so this is the cheapest one i found for $900 new.
Apple MD101HN/A 13-inch Laptop (Core i5/4GB/500GB/Mac OS X Mavericks/Intel HD Graphics 4000/
Is this model worth buying? I just want to use it for web browsing, movies, and playing some OSX supported PC games and nothing too fancy. I would also probably dual boot Windows 7 as well to have access to more Steam games but the specs don't seem to be too good for gaming. I could get a much better specced Windows laptop for the same money but since I've never owned a Macbook i was thinking maybe i should give it a go.

I'd say $900 is a good buy for a new one. $200 for 8GB of RAM and a 256 SSD and you'd sill come out ahead over the air, if you want upgrade ability. I'd personally go for an upgraded Air or 13" Retina refurb, though.

Gaming and Macs don't go hand in hand.

I wouldn't expect much out of any 13" offerings.

I would say it's fine for all your uses except for gaming. Even the latest MacBook Pros aren't really good for gaming.
