Which apps you need is driven completely by what you intend to use your computer for. There's a better approach than asking others to randomly suggest apps, without knowing your needs.

Just run with the apps you have. When you encounter something you're trying to do and you don't have an app that does it, then research and ask questions about that task. "I'm trying to ____. Which app is best for that?" You'll get much better responses and you'll avoid cluttering your Mac with apps you don't need and may never use.

^ This. Tell us what you need/want to do and people can give recommendations. Things like this are very subjective and one list isn't going to suit everyone. You own list may be complete for some while incomplete for others and cluttered with useless applications for yet others.

It's really like anything else. Identify the problem and then find a solution rather than just throwing random solutions around.

Here are the additional must haves for me:

VLC
The Unarchiver or Stuffit Expander or Both
OnyX
Disk Inventory X

If you work with DVDs I would also add MakeMKV and MetaZ to complete the trifecta with Handbrake.

I'd go with the idea of getting an app to fill a need, if you don't have the need, then you don't need an app. For instance you don't have Vmware's Fusion, yet you may not have a need to run Windows

Good list that - have most of them as well. Didn't see Snappy-App there?

One of my most frequently used applets.

If you also have an iPad - you simply have to try ActionsApp for Ipad - Mac shortcuts triggered via your iPad, together with cross app workflows... Has changed how I use my MBP. Simply brilliant.
