Just noticed this and was wondering if this is something new in iOS 12 - the music you play on your Mac (or PC I guess as long as you're playing it through iTunes) shows up in the Recently Played section of the iOS Apple Music app.

Whether it's new or not, I think it's pretty nice to have this feature.

Not new. So long as you have “Use Listening History” enabled it will show on your Apple Music profile across all devices.

Interesting, never noticed it before

Yeah it took me awhile to notice too as I don’t really play music via iTunes much but I think it’s enabled by default. If you don’t like it you can choose which devices “track” your listening history by toggling them on/off accordingly.
