Is it normal for Youtube videos, or other online videos, to sort of stop for like 1 second every now and then when you're watching them?

Yes, if it's a larger, high quality video it will need to buffer since your Internet connection can't keep up. You will find smaller, lower quality videos will load much faster.

Have they even been smooth for you in the past?

If YES ----> What has changed since?

Sometime your internet connection may not be all it can be, and get sluggish causing it.

Sometimes it is YouTube itself.

I have played some that went without a hitch and still some that have lagged.

Do Software Updates and update FLASH as well.

I'm talking about when the video is already playing, and every now and then it might stutter or pause for like half a second. Is that normal?

I've had this for almost 3 weeks. It's always happened. I just wanted to know if it was normal.

It's not even lagging. The video is playing just fine, besides the little hiccups every now and then.

For the reasons stated above ---> YES

The video will begin to play before it is completely downloaded, it is streaming to your systems. If the internet connection is too slow, then the video stream coming in will be too slow and will pause from time to time for it to catch up.

This is common with higher resolution videos.

If you only want smooth playback try this .....

1) Start the video
2) Immediately after starting the video PAUSE the video.
3) Wait a few minutes.
4) Resume playing

This will allow your buffer to fill up and thus avoid the hesitation.

The hiccups are normal, that is what I mean by lagging.

The computer is playing the video faster than the internet can deliver it to you.

But then again ........

Perform SOFTWARE UPDATE - insure you have all the latest fixes

Also update Flash Player

Google " Flash Player Update " for more info on that.

Oh, no. That's not what I'm going through. The videos are not trying to buffer, nor do they need buffering.

I guess I'm not explaining it right.
