Hello MacForums,

Is it normal for a Macbook PRO i7 to crash during bootcamp with Windows XP? It causes like a dark bluescreen with white text that I can't read and it only does it if it seems like the Macbook PRO is really hot.

I was thinking bootcamp crashes because it gets to hot but I don't really know much about Macs.

What were you doing in Windows?

You could install SMC FanControl and set the fans to a higher speed before you switch to Windows, thus preventing the heat problem.

yeap, thats overheating.
windows really suck with heat management on macs, there are certain utilities you can download to upp the fan speed.

I installed Windows XP via Bootcamp so I could use the UDK "Unreal Development Kit" to design and develop my video games. It only does it when I am using something a CPU intensive as the UDK, my legs feel like they are in a oven once it crashes...

I figured it was because it was overheating but I didn't know.
