Just to make me feel at ease. Is the boot up time for a 2019 MacBook Air acceptable after upgrading to Big Sur and also after I put my password in why does the screen blink for a split second.

also I do a google speed test over WiFi and the speed is only 200 megs per sec as opposed to my iPhone 12 pro which gets up to 600 megs per sec.
Thank you for your help. :)

It’s more pronounced on video. It does not flash like that. Just goes I. And off for a second during boot up

What is FileVault and why would it make the screen blink

And I never turned it on. Is it set to be on by default

Ok can you be serious. Please is this normal and if not how do I fix it please. It’s less than a year old.

People are afraid to post because of their question being made fun of or ridiculed. This forum is supposed to help people not scare them away.

No point in making 2 threads with the same question.
i had some MB who blink or short “freeze” for a split second at startup.
But apart from that they run fine after loading the OS. So no big deal...

Spoke to a genius at the apple store today. Totally normal. Known issue. She said she has seen it a lot and will be fixed with a future update. Thanks everyone for your help.
