I had to exchange my iPhone 3G already due to hardware problems now with the exchange I have this is what the battery gives me look at the usage, and the standby then look at how much battery I have left?!?! is that normal?

If you just exchanged it, is it a new phone? Have you conditioned the battery, yet, with a full drain-until-it-shuts-off charging cycle? That looks low, but not unusual for a first charge. A few cycles should get you up to some better stats.

I have had this phone for about 3 weeks and Yes I have completely drained the battery

Have you drained and recharged the phone? Do you have 3G and Location Services on? Listening to streaming radio, YouTube, making phone calls?

Yes, 3G is on no raid no youtube all I do is text and rarely Call

Drain the battery, turn off 3G (since you are on Wi-Fi), and turn off Location Services, then see how long the battery lasts.

But with the usage I have is that the normal? Because my friend that I live with his iPhone same as me as far as usage and his can last almost 2 days on standby?

The thing is, even if you don't use it, the screen, 3G radio, and location services drain the battery, even on the EDGE iPhone.

I would say it is not normal, but then again, the battery indicator is not really accurate. Let it run all the way down to figure out how long it lasts.

Ok... Will do

do you get the same usage stats?!

I use an iPhone EDGE and use AOL Radio for about 4 hours each day, so I can't really tell. Before 2.0, I would get about 6 days of standby time.

hmm if you were doing some heavy surfing/radio or maybe GPS i could understand that. but if you did just text and say 1-2 phone calls.

question. was all 2 hours from just pure texting?

note:

just to show u a comparison, right now

my usage is 2 hours and 7min. standby 8.5 hours.
3g on all day
wifi off
20min phone call on 3G.
check mail every 30min
brightness about 25%~
took 15 pictures today. e-mailed 3 of them.
used GPS for about 10min
messed with a few apps (koi pond, piano, and daily test for brain challenge)
surfed to a few webpages

battery only 20% depleted so far.

sorry i just added a bit more. basically my usage stats. hmm 2 hours of texting. i'd try it for u but i don't have unlimited :p what's ur screen brightness set at?
