This is a picture from the Royal Ascot races, across the pond in Britain or England or whatever they call it nowadays.
It's a week or so of horse races, held annual for the past 300 years or so. The last few hundred years the de rigueur thing has been to wear a noticeable hat (if you're female).

I have heard of the Royal Ascot races as I have relatives in England,I live in Oklahoma.Never seen an iPad on someone's head though,I have seen hats in England with birds,feathers and lots of other things but this is something else.Now I have seen it all....
No, it does not. The 1st gen iPad did not look like a box. That is clearly some object pretending to be an iPad.
Just to clarify, people in England don't normally go around with ridiculous hats on, Ascot is just a special event.

We have a big horse show around my area, with a fancy hat day. Men and women dress up in fancy hats. I was a judge once, it was fun because the contestants are actually allowed to bribe the judges while standing in line being judged. All in fun of course.
