Yesterday, I expanded the storage on my 8 bay Eonstor Cube which is connected by SCSI cable to my G5.

Bumped up the RAID, rebuilt everything, looked fine.

Disc utility now recognizes that there is a 6.5 TB space connected (which is correct).

The old server was partitioned at about 3.4 gigs. In disc utility, I had the option to expand this without losing any data, so I tried to do so.

After 15 seconds or so, it came back with the error

"file system verify or repair failed"

Tried a few more times, same result.

So I decided to create a second partition, leaving the initial one exactly as it was, to utilize the new space.

It's now been sitting on the progress bar saying "Modifying Partition Map" for about 2 hours.

Is this normal? Or has it stuffed up somewhere?

I'm trying to figure out whether it's worth leaving it, or killing disc utility & starting again.

Any suggestions??
