Is this possible with maps on iPhone?

Hi

Is it possible to be able to view other people's live location in comparison to yours when using the map app?

ie I would be able to see my location and also a dot where my friend is?

If this is possible how does this work?

The Maps app does not do this, but there are apps on the app store. Google Latitude does what you want and its free.

Just in case this may make a difference to you, I was considering Google Latitude (and getting my friends to run it too), until I noticed that to run it you have to agree to allow Google to track your location too. I didn't really like the idea of that, so I decided against it.

I'm a fan of Google Latitude. Although there are no alerts to say if your friends are nearby, it's a great way of wondering where they are.
