I just bought a Synology 5 Bay NAS, Id like to use that to store my photos, and at the same time id like to share that library over two Macbook Pro's so that i could view it in iPhoto? if this seems complicated is there an easier solution?

thanks for any input.

is this possible? [with Synology 5 Bay NAS]

I have my iPhoto library from my PowerMac G5 saved on my Time Capsule. If you merge the iPhoto libraries of the two Macs, move the library to the NAS, and tell iPhoto where to look, it should work out just fine.

Hope I helped!

this would allow both macs to access said library simultaneous? could they both add photos in the future to the library?

I'm not sure about simultaneous. I have my iTunes library on the Time Capsule too for sharing with my Windows laptop, and I can make changed on either that will be reflected. But if I want to update the library, I have to close it on one computer.

But try for yourself. If it works, you're good to go.
