So my friend apparently broke his mute switch by applying a little more than normal force in toggling it up and down.

I told his it really wasn't possible unless it was a ridiculous amount of force since the chassis doesn't allow the switch to move or flex beyond its resting point.

Am I too far off point on how the switch is placed structurally?

Thanks!

I'm sure it's possible to break but by just applying above normal force to move it up and down?

Yeah I figured as much. I wish I cold see how the switch sits inside the body. Haven't been able to find anythjng

I have never heard of this happening. That's a lot of force to apply to break it. I would be curious how Apple would go with replacing something like that.

I'm not really sure. Haven't been able to find any pics on about how it's seated inside the phone.
