Anyone know if it's possible to return an iPhone 3G to an AT&T store, pay the restocking fee, and then pick up one at an Apple store at the subsidized price?

I was an owner of the original iPhone...

all the store had left were 8GB since they were running out of 16gbs at the AT&T store and thought I'd give it a try but after a week, it definitely does not meet my space requirements.

Worth a shot but I would check with ATT before doing so. Make sure you will be able to make the purchase. Can't you place an order with ATT for a 16GB?

I was forced to buy an 8GB
Ah yes, the AT&T bully again !

You were "forced"? How was that accomplished?

*edit* Thanks dZp. I understand now...
