After all the money you've spent on your Mac you're looking to save $100 by not buying RAM that's guaranteed compatible and warranteed?

I'd stay well away from buying RAM on eBay. Both those modules are too slow for the iMac you have and may not work correctly. Buy from someone who guarantees compatibility. 4GB of decent RAM is not much more than $100. Don't risk your expensive machine on cheap RAM.

no it's not compatible. you need a Data Rate of 800MHz for the new Penryn iMacs.

you need:

Unbuffered, Non-ECC, 1.8V 200-pin PC6400 DDR2 800 MHz SO-DIMMs with a CAS Latency of either 5 or 6
