Ok... I'm just excited for it I guess, but it changed to "preparing to ship" this morning and I was wondering if that means it'll ship sooner than estimated? It's a base graphics and processor with 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD... Ordered Sunday afternoon.

If you purchase with express shipping, the dates may not be accurate. I ordered mine Monday Nov 25th, and it was delivered Wednesday before thanksgiving.
They didn’t give me an express shipping option. They removed it before I ordered. Not sure what was going on. I’m sure BTO models are slower to come too.
Apple likes to under promise and over deliver when it comes to shipping dates.

Suggest you give them a call and ask to be upgraded to express shipping, that is what I did.
Just talked to them. Apparently they can’t upgrade it because it’s already preparing for shipping. Not sure why the option went away. I would’ve paid the 8 bucks.
Mine was BTO. Maxed out 2.4, 64GB RAM, 5500M,8TB. maybe Apple has certain BTO configurations already on deck. The mix/match orders not so much. 🤷🏽
That’s what I’m thinking. Less common confines are less likely to be lying around, although this early in the product life they probably have all configurations made in some quantities.

Mine came on the expected day- I preordered within one minute though. Not sure about this MacBook though. I was somewhat late ordering compared to the initial rush.
My BTO (maxed out except with 4 TB SSD instead of 8) was scheduled for Dec. 6-10, arrived yesterday (Dec. 2). Ordered Nov. 27, arrived from Shanghai by air.
I suspect this is a relatively common high-end configuration (the 8TB SSD is really expensive). BTO on these is also a funny concept, because everything customizable except case color is soldered to the motherboard.
