I agree, but its a really great case. I would have gotten the newer model but they are sold out everywhere.

In general, please be careful with those sleeves. I went to a (non-Apple) store to try out several sleeves which were originally built for the 13" rMBP, which is supposed to be the same.

Still, I was unable to stow the 2018 MBA in them properly, they were so cramped. And closing the zipper thing almost scratched the edge. So I guess all those "second skin" sleeves (for example those by Tucano) need to be adapted before they will fit the new MBA properly. I ended up buying an Incase bag at the Apple Store which fits quite well: https://www.apple.com/shop/product/...macbook-pro-thunderbolt-3-usb-c-thunderbolt-2

The one I noted earlier in the thread fits perfectly.

I like the Joli Original sleeves. I've been using one for my 2011 MacBook Air for 6+ years. Today I just ordered a new sleeve for my 2018 MBA.

They always look nice.

But I dont feel they offer anything more than scratch protection. I'd also be concerned that this type of case is not well suited for the tapered Air. Take a look at the textured picture and a tapered unit on their site

I’ve owned one for 6+ years. It’s very nice. Perfect fit for the Air. The leather forms around the tapered form as you break it in. The other day I tried putting it in backwards by mistake, and it was very difficult. Flipped it around and it was perfectly snug yet workable.

The edges offer some impact resistance too, due to the way it’s stitched since you have that bit of extra leather. But mostly I just wanted something thin, stylish, and good quality. Not looking for any kind of drop-proof Otterbox case or anything like that.

Other than Apple's one sleeve and the few listed in the Apple Store, is there anything else for the MacBook Air (2018)? At places like Best Buy most of what's available is for the old (2017) model instead...

Love this company. Bought tons of stuff here. Quality products at reasonable prices. And all their stuff is genuine leather that's made to last. Check them out!
