iOS Is this sync scenario possible?

I'm making an asset program(kind of). And I want to sync with a desktop program which is also made by me.

I want to test a sync function. So I thought, this might be possible.

1) turn on my laptop, and run my mobile application through iPhone simulator.
2) turn on my desktop, and run my DESKTOP app
3) If those programs are in same network. they (the iPhone simulator and the desktop program) can sync each other.

Is this scenario possible?
