Hi All,

I would like to upgrade my HD to a SSD sooner rather than later and I want to take advantage of Black Friday prices. My co-worker recommended this model from Samsung. Can anyone else recommend this model?

I'm looking at 250GB

thanks in advance!

Sure, all the Samsung drives are great. You will probably see bigger savings on other brands though, due to Samsung's current popularity.

That's a good SSD and great for the price. If you are using the SSD as your main OS/Program, which I believe you are, I would go with the Samsung 840 Pro series SSDs. The Pro series are made with "higher" standards and carry a longer warranty, up to 5 years for about $30 more.

Awesome, thanks for pointing this out. I think I'm going to pull the trigger on this and get the Pro version.

Also going to update my RAM (can't wait for a fast computer!). Deciding between Corsair or Kingston. Anyone like either of these or can recommend another brand?
