The 16 inch MBP for $300 off at Costco seems like a pretty good deal since Best Buy price matches. Is this the lowest if will get in the near term?

Someone here said it was $1999 some place a day or two ago. Refurbs probably won't be any better than that. Expercom at Amazon is selling the used "as new" condition for $1999. Those include the remainder of the warranty.

Pretty much the best you'll get right now, at least until refurbs start popping up but I can't imagine theyll be much lower. Deals were a bit better directly thru apple in December with the 6% back via Apple Card. I did that plus edu pricing and drove to NH while I was home for the holidays to grab it tax free.
