Is this the better deal?

In the market to purchase a new laptop for our 14 year old for Christmas.
can't really afford to pay to much so I am thinking of getting the clearance model macbook from macmall.com.

Is this a good deal or does the apple site have better deals on the refurb macbooks? There is only 1 macbook on the refurb list at the moment. Are there usually more?

There's usually more refurbs, but they're previous models at nearly $799. The $899 one is the current model, which may be worth the extra cash.

The only one on there right now is at $1049. Maybe they do not update today being Sunday. I should probably check back tomorrow morning. But if you are correct, the $799 0r $899 model sound good.
