Is this the easiest way to set up a fresh iPhone 4S?

I don't want to do a restore via backup but I don't want to type in all of my contacts. My MacBook Air is currently synced with my 3GS so the contacts are all in my Mac's address book.

Is there a better way than setting up the iPhone 4S as a fresh install but transfer over my contacts from my Mac's address book?

When you set up your new phone just sync the contacts from address book
