For a Jailbreak....for the iPad 2? Or has other devices taken even longer to finally get it accomplished?

iPod Touch 2G was longer. It was at least 7 months, then 9 until it was an untethered jailbreak.

Oh, hell no. iPad 2 has not even been out a month yet. Like the other poster said, the situaiton with iPod touch 2G was the longest. A month is nothing.

Some people are still waiting for unlocks for iPhone and have been waiting over seven months.

There is no guarantee of a jailbreak or an exploit that will be found in any specific amount of time. History is no guide as the technology keeps changing and the hacking teams priorities keep changing or they have different things going on in their lives.

If a jailbreak is that important to you then you shouldn't purchase a device in anticipation of one being released.

Thanks! I didn't know that. Also, no where did I say it was important to me..I was just curious of how long.

Some of these dates seem wrong. The iPad 1 was jailbroken in April with Spirit and the iPod Touch 1G was in late September. The iPhone 4 CDMA was jailbroken when it was released.

The list makes it seem like there's usually jailbreak a month following the releases, but in reality it's taking longer now that apple is pushing harder from their end.

I just got these off of the wiki, so I'm not exactly positive. It does show the CDMA iP4 as being jailbroken 3 days before release, though, which I remember happening because some people got their phones early.
