Is this the right/good ram???

I just purchased the 17in MBP 2.3 . Looking to upgrade the ram, tried to do a search on the forums but got a little confused.

Would this work well with it?

That's what I put in my 15" 2.2; works fine. As for brands, I understand the 'brands' just buy in lots and slap their sticker on it, so it's more important to get a set from a 'good' batch than any particular brand name per se. (If I'm wrong, someone please correct me.)

Yes, this is the RAM for 2011 models. As for brands, Crucial, Kingston, G.Skill are all excellent; haven't had any experience with Corsair, but I expect it is just as good.

As long as the specs match up, and they have good review on newegg, any brand should work.
