That RAM will work fine for the 2011 MB pro. I don't understand what you mean by "it's not the lower speed RAM." Are talking about 1600Mhz RAM? You will not see any noticeable performance benefits using the faster RAM.

Link for phillips screwdriver. I'm sure if you look at other websites, you could find it cheaper.

As for the hard drive change, you will need the phillips screwdriver and a T6 Torx screwdriver: link.

iFixit's website also recommends you remove the battery when changing RAM/SSD. I am not experienced enough to say whether this is necessary or not, maybe other posters can comment.

What I meant was that it is 1333 speed RAM and not 1066?

I will probably purchase the screwdriver from eBay. Thanks a lot for the link!

I am considering buying this for my new 2011 13" MBP so thanks Fugue for posting this!

I have one question this RAM says PC3 10666 when the apple.com upgrade site says PC3 10600. I don't know if this makes a difference since I don't really know what this means. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Was wondering the same thing as well! Thanks for asking :)

It doesn't make any difference. Both will work fine in your mac.
