I have searched VSS remote tools on the forum just now, and found an article on comparison among several VSS remote tools, including Source Offsite, SourceAnyWhere, VSS Connect, SourceXT, VSS Remoting, and VSS.NET. It seems that Source Anywhere is very attractive.

Has any one used Source Anywhere? Is the evaluating data about Source Anywhere true?
Our company is seeking VSS remote tools for our business. Hope anyone could give me some suggestion.

Thank you for advance.

Do you mean VSS, as in Visual SourceSafe? If that's the case, I'd pitch it. VSS is a terrible product that hasn't been updated in several years. Our development team recently switched to Subversion. Performance has increased as well as administration has decreased, due to quirks with VSS.

My advice: migrate to Subversion

I agree, we use subversion via TortoiseSVN for all our VS.NET development. it's way ahead of VSS. There are one of two SVN SCC plugins for VS.NET, but they are not production quality, TortoiseSVN is your best bet.

There is a new version of VSS coming at the end of the year, you could try the beta, but I wouldn't trust my source to a beta product.
