I'm trying to re-encode and burn my first blu-ray DVD with Toast 10 (only 2GB or so of data) and it's been 4 hours and I'm only at 40%. And I have an 8-core Mac Pro!!!

Toast's CPU usage never seems to go above 100%, meaning it's only using one core. Am I missing some setting to make it use all the cores?

Is there another, more efficient app that can re-encode MKVs as h264 HD video that can burn on regular DVDs for play on blu-ray players?
