I upgraded to Tiger finally ! And it is fast.
But now my transparent dock is not working. I searched for it here, and it seems that I am not the only one. So has anyone found a solution yet?

Also, windowshadeX is not working. And I have been using it for so long (setting the minimize button to hide) that it freaks me out if I minimize and the window actually minimizes !!! :p So before I email the developer, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Well you'll need to update windowshade to be tiger compatible. As a matter of fact 4.0 was just released today. Go to http://www.unsanity.com/ .
As for transparent dock, it hasn't been working for me ever since 10.4.2, so we'll just have to wait for an update...

Is it better, worse, or about the same as TransparentDoc?
I have no idea, as I cannot remember ever having tried TransparentDock (though I very well might have). But it gets the job done. ;)

It makes the dock transparent (or whatever color you want) and let you change the color of those little triangles showing which apps are running (see attachment). It depends on APE (Application Enhancer) which installs as a System Preference panel (under Other).

The only thing cleardock does is make your dock transparent. Transparent Dock can do the same, hence the name, however you can manually change to color, opacity of the dock, and enable/disable various other options related to the dock. Trans Dock is much better IMO.

Ah, I was mistaken, cleardock has evolved since I last used it. Then I change my mind, cleardock is better. Why? Because it uses Unsanity's Application Enhacer module, which only reroutes the system's resources to yours on the fly, when an app starts, instead of actually modifying key system components. Much, much safer. Shapeshifter and a few others also use APE.

ClearDock can also be used to change the color (as I said in the post above).

Where TransparentDock has an advantage is when it comes to other preferences, but that's what utilites like Xupport and TinkerTool is for... ;)

Edit: You were even faster than me... :p

I've used both transparentdock and cleardock, and in my opinion cleardock is clearly better (as transparentdock fried my dock and I had to re-install my os, thank god for CCC).

Does Cleardock not "save" for anyone else? I come back after a few days and find my dock is back to default... I changed it again using Cleardock, and restarted, and it's okay now. Just seemed weird.

the new Transparent Dock works with Tiger 10.4.2
Updated TransparentDock is 2.3.3 which I grabbed the other day at Version Tracker.
