I kind of like it, I do watch it on HULU and it holds my interest. Not so sure the acting is super but it's a decent show.

If you've seen one episode of Lie To Me, you've seen them all.

Still puzzles me how it got more than one season.

This is a good assessment really. Yet it holds my interest somehow so that explains the second season I think.

It's fairly good and enjoyable and I'm waiting for the second season to finish, which seems to be doing that right now, after a quick check.

It has its highs and lows, but the characters are kinda intriguing and FACS is quite interesting.

Lukewarm :p

I take it it's very episodic then, not a drawn out storyline like in Dexter? Am really looking for something deep and a bit moody...

I think the show is terrible. It's almost insulting to the viewing public, and the entire idea that this guy can tell who is lying does not work itself into the plot very well. The main character can spot liars everywhere around him when he's walking down the street and it's not important, but in a situation where the person being scrutinized is a bad guy, and a crucial element of the plot, his entire team suddenly become amateurs. I suppose that's why each episode doesn't end after 5 minutes. ;)

Lol. You've just described every procedural on TV!

Lie to Me is OK. It passes the time, but if you're looking for something deep, move on. The story arcs alone on this show aren't compelling enough to keep you coming back week after week, but the fact that nothing else better is on right now might...

I enjoyed the show when it first came out, followed it on Hulu. The episodes where they focus on the science (exaggerated or not) can be pretty interesting.

Worth watching if you need something to watch.

This show is rubbish. No lie.

First season was very good, especially when they linked it to celebrities/politicians etc. It was part drama, part based in reality - this kept my interest. I'd say the best episode was probably the very first.

Second season is dragging a bit if I'm totally honest, they've dropped away from linking it to real life, stopped showing you 'what he sees' and fallen more into the typical procedural type programme - no-one knows who did it until the last 10 minutes, when you find out he knew all along.

Same thing happened to The Mentalist - excellent start, links to real life, gave the audience clues etc. but then dropped into procedural with the audience left in the dark. I have enjoyed the last couple of them though so maybe it's picking back up.

Real shame for both; something different from the standard CSI/Numbers formula is always welcome.

I think this is the problem with pretty much everything on the box nowadays. It's really irritating. We need another Sopranos.

Oh god no, you cannot come Lie to Me and Dexter at all ... ever. Dexter is genius, Lie to Me is the bastard child of CSI or similar shows.

Since you did mention Dexter, I'll say that Dexter is by far my favorite show and nothing has compared to it for me. It's a good thing that got in the right hands. It could've easily been procedural in a way comparable to House, with drawn out storylines and a case (or in Dexter's case, that would be a victim).

I mentioned how big of a fan of Dexter I am so maybe you can get an idea for my TV-watching taste. Anyway, I do like Lie to Me, and it is an interesting time-killer. It's been entertaining enough for me to follow it, more so than your standard medicore crime show. The consistency isn't great, but some episodes can be very good.

^ Well if you're talking about taste, I think Dexter is brilliant and one of my favourite shows but I thought Lie to me was crap. I don't know how these two shows are even being compared. Whoever started that, shame on you! :p

not all CSI shows are created equal either... the first few seasons of CSI in Las Vegas: superb

and then on the other side: CSI: Miami which is just plain unwatchable after a 2-3 episodes

on "Lie to me": it's ok for stopping by when nothing other is on and for a episode here but i never got the feeling that it is enough for multiple seasons ...

Then again it is all opinion because I cannot stand CSI: Las Vegas. CSI: Miami is amazing IMO. Speaking of Miami, nothing beats Burn Notice.

Lie to Me is okay but if you want that type of show I recommend The Mentalist with high regards.

Agreed, but I always enjoy seeing a cynical grumpy atheist get the win every week, another reason I love House. This show is exactly the same formula. The only thing that bugs me is the female character always "explaining" what the main character is doing. Might as well be a DVD commentary...

Lie to Me got unmistakably better for the first half of season two than season one was. Time will tell if the new showrunner for the second half of season two will be able to keep up with the precedent that the last showrunner set for the show. Lie to Me was renewed for a third season. I don't know when that will debut since season two is still airing until the end of August, but I liked having Lie to Me after House.

I like the show. Don't really watch much tv except Its
always Sunny and Dexter. Got rid of cable for school budget reasons.

One show I have recently started watching and liking is whale wars. Not sure how I started watching it, as it isn't something I would normally watch. But its a funny show that doesn't try to be, the crew is a bunch of bumbling idiots it seems. Nothing seems to go right.
