Is VC SR-VS20 MINI DV tape deck gonna work with a Mac?

I wan to buy VC SR-VS20 MINI DV, which I want to use to capture the material I shot with my camera. This is the cheapest deck I could find, so I guess would like to get this one, but I am unsure whether it is going to work with my mac? Got just a regular mac book (OSX 10.4). Any advice? Couldn't find any info on the net about this device...

Yes, but why not just use your camera? Or by a camera for a couple hundred bucks and use that?

I have also read some reviews were the users of Macs weren't able to see the player in whatever software they used (iMovie and FCP I think).

Unless you have hundred of tapes, you can use your camera, even if it wears the heads a bit.
Or get a cheap miniDV camera (with Firewire / DV-Out / iLink port of course) via eBay or your local tech retail.
