I am not interested in the new features, but I would upgrade now if Ventura is faster. How does it look to you?
wait. you reverted your OS because of system settings? hmmm. i use my mac to run apps (like mail, safari, my work apps, etc), and the GUI of settings (where i rarely need to go) would not deter me from using a new, improved OS (but that's just me... and many others...) 🤔I've gone back to Monterey as Ventura was ***** for me. I don't see much difference between the two apart from the crap system prefs lol

a. you said " I don't see much difference between the two apart from the crap system prefs"; you made no reference to anything else.Nope, i didnt say that did i? I had multiple crashes, mainly from using mail effing up everytime I tried to load it up, not loading etc etc
Random crashes, green screen.......
I always update to the latest OS but this one is ****. Gone back to Monty until they have about 63 million updates before I upgrade again.
I got my fix by going back to something that actually worked for mea. you said " I don't see much difference between the two apart from the crap system prefs"; you made no reference to anything else.
b. you always have the option of pursuing fixes for issues (ie with the help of ppl on this forum). the OS is fine for most people, but like every single mac OS before it, there are those who have issues (just check the forums for any OS version on macrumors).
you chose to revert instead of looking for fixes; that's your right, of course.
I have a Late 2018 Mac Mini 3.2GHz Intel Core i7 with Crucial 32 GB 2667 MHz DDR4 ram. They still allow upgrade to the latest, but really Apple putting iOS on their computers is not going to fly anymore with me since we can't depend on what Apple will do next with their OS. I'm back running Mojave, as it's the last Apple OS that was the most stable I found. Not going to shell out thousands for another system that will be dead inside 5 years. Most of the time I would guess that it really depends on the hardware you have and how much your system is optimized for the newer OS. My M1 MacBook Pro runs fast on Ventura, but Monterey seemed to just work well overall with it (it was the first OS for it, so it was probably optimized for it). My MacBook Pro 2018 runs great on Ventura also. It is an Intel system, but surprisingly running cool, good and fast.
There are still some small bugs on Ventura, but we are on .3 now, so we have a few more versions to go before the next OS is released in the fall.
Mojave generally (overall) at the end of its cycle was a decent OS. The issue now is that developers are moving on from Mojave compatibility, being that it is an aging OS.I have a Late 2018 Mac Mini 3.2GHz Intel Core i7 with Crucial 32 GB 2667 MHz DDR4 ram.
