Is warranty valid universally?

Hello.
I am in desperate need of a new laptop and with the new macbook pro, I am ready to purchase. I am currently in Canada due to work but I will be going back to the US in a couple of month. If I purchase a macbook in canada, will the warranty still be valid in the US? What about apple care?
