Will the Mini eventually push the full-size out of the market?

Simple question. When the mini gets a retina display, it will technically have everything the 9.7" ipad has, plus superior portability. Would this, combined with market forces, make the the "mini" the only model at some point, or will the larger model find some way to differentiate itself?

Bonus points for suggesting ways the big one can further differentiate itself.

Big brother iPad should always be around if Apple wants to keep the Mini cheaper. I see the Mini always having last years chips, therefor the biggin' shouldn't be going anywhere.
