I have a 2005 Mercedes SLK, and have recently fitted a pioneer head unit (sph- da360dab) The unit is capable of wireless carplay.

I also have an iphone12 pro plus.

My question: Does anyone know whether IOS 16 (at least at this stage) works with wireless carplay in these circumstances?

I have wireless carplay native in my hyundai tuscon and I have had the IOS16 since beta 1 with no problems. I only mention native just in case 3rd party units are behaving different on 16(and I doubt).

Edit: Let me specify Dev Beta 1

I have a CarLinkit wireless adapter in my Mazda CX-5, and it has worked exactly the same as iOS15 with iOS16 DB1, 2 and now 3 v1 and v2. (DB3v2 is the same as PB1). I haven't had any more problems with it than I did with iOS15.
Nice to see there are reliable adapters now, so I can be ready in case they ever go portless

Hmm. So I wonder why mine works perfectly when connected by USB. But when using wifi, the head unit asks me to wait and verify the phone? It was working previously.

Hi, my friend has a 2016 corsa and CarPlay was working fine on ios16 until Saturday then only music stopped working. He’s tried both wireless and wired. Any ideas ? He’s thinking of rolling back to 15.
He’s tried the following:
restarting phone, reset all settings on phone and car, forgot car on phone. New cable didn’t work either.
iPhone 13. His work phone on 15 works fine.

This may be very specific to my situation, but wireless CarPlay seems a lot smoother and is faster to connect on iOS 16 DB4/PB2. I had an occasional problem with DB3 where the "Home" button on my CX-5 did not seem to work. (A restart would fix this problem only for the first connection.) It's working very well now, and everything seems more responsive.

Hey!
Just received my new Volvo V60 model year 2023 with the updated Google Car information system. Note my question does not apply to the old Sensus system. Does anyone know if I can get Apple carplay wireless connection to my new car and can you direct me to the right gadget.

2020 Audi Q3. My wireless CarPlay has worked 100% of the time on all of the iOS 16 betas. Zero issues.

My CarPlay keeps crashing at the exact same location every day I drive by. Is there a Bermuda Triangle in Palo Alto?
There’s a Bermuda Triangle in Long Beach too. It’s been there since I first got CarPlay, and it’s super frustrating. It’s somewhere I drive very frequently, and it covers about five blocks.

The worst part is that, even after several years of this, I still forget to detour more often than not. Habits are killer.

CarPlay stopped working for me on dev beta 5. It worked on every previous version and it worked fine the day before I updated to b5. I created a new Feedback about it.

I also updated to dev beta 6 and CarPlay is still not working. I updated the data in the Feedback.

worked fine for me in Beta 8 as well as yesterday's RC (BMW 5 series 2021 (= iDrive 7)

I have the same problem. VW Arteon previously (pre iOS16) worked flawlessly, now will not connect wirelessly. Have tried removing on both the infotainment and car, and re-pairing which goes through the pairing process (with passcode), syncs contacts but then fails to connect to Carplay, then the Bluetooth connection drops. Re-connecting Bluetooth doesn't work.
Works fine with the cable though, so is this an iOS 16 Bluetooth issue?

It works for me in an Audi Q3. I mention that as it may share internals with your VW. Very fussy however (but that’s been true since I bought the vehicle). Try resetting your network settings in the phone. You’ll need to re-enter all your Wi-Fi passwords after you do this but it may solve the issue.

thanks @gwhizkids I'll give that a go

Wireless CarPlay stopped working for me after installing the last two betas. Once I got the RC, I took the nuclear option, wiped the phone and reinstalled the backup. Works fine now.

I used a 3.0 two years ago, and after using it for about a year, it appeared to be stuck and delayed. Then they arranged the 4.0 to replace 3.0 for me, now i have been using 4.0 almost a year,so far so good! i have to say they are a good seller! highly recommeded!
