Is your new MBP (late08) right speaker louder than your left speaker?

Mine sounds muffled on the left when compared to the right speaker.

Its very noticeable when you play around in your balance settings (max left or max right) that the volumes are different.

Let me know your thoughts or situations

I believe the Subwoofer is on the right hand side of the MacBook pro.

Yes, almost sounds mono like my MBA. I wasn't that impressed with the speakers and I expected to be based on my previous MBPs. They are plenty loud but they sound muffled.

certainly does sound like it...but some of the vocals are coming out alot louder from the right too, so it's not just the bass...

Well obviously they are not "true" sub woofers in the logical sense. They do produce quite a bit of mid range tones too, which would explain the vocals also being louder on that side.

It sucks, but I still like them better than the previous MBP speakers. The only issue with mine is the shredding distortion at high volume.

The sub is on the right it seems so thats why it seems like that. Mine sounded a little right hand sided so I knocked the equaliser a little to the left and it sounds central.

My speaker doesn't have much bass coming from them. Do you guys have some bass? I am worried which my sub in my MBP is not working properly

Don't expect much bass from the speakers. They are only notebook ones.

The way I could tell, play some music. Put the slider all the way to the left. You should hear the bass from the right still.
