iPod touch Is your TV out working?

First off,
I did a search and it did not come up with anything.

It seems that I only get audio when my Ipod is hooked up via the dock port on the bottom. I have a really nice Monster cable that I used with my 5G ipod no problem so I know its not that. I've tried it with widescreen on and off and i'm on NTSC. Anyone else have this problem or any ideas for a solution?

Sorry but, the monster cable is not compatible with the iPod touch. You HAVE to have Apple's new Compostie cable or Component video cable. There goes $49... sorry.

I have the component cables.
it only works WHILE you're watching videos. When you go into videos and try to play one, it asks "would you like to output to tv"? if you say yes, then it begins to output. If no, then it doesnt. As soon as you close the movie, ipod disconnects from TV. Would be nice if you could surf the net on the ipod while it's connected to the tv. oh well.
