i just got ishowu and was wondering wot the best video format is when i record video from the web. something that can be played with other media players or something that can be converted easily.
 
Well just stick to something like H.264 I guess. It has the best size to quality ratio. But it can take awhile to compress.
 
i was using that file type cause its the few that are playd in other media players.i wont be recording long stuff anyway,just clips.so ill just stick to that format then.

wot would i use to make the h.264 to a diff file type like avi etc
 
Well before this it would've been a resounding get Visualhub or iSquint but since these two have since been discontinued I guess your only other option is the slightly more tedious but nonetheless equally powerful ffmpegx
