i found a deal on an iSight camera, but have a problem.

My MacBook has a 6 pin FireWire port. I plug the camera in and everything works. Of course it already has a camera, so I don't need it.

I bought a 9 pin to 6 pin adapter so I can use the iSight on my 2009 MacPro.
When I plug it in, the little green light on the camera lights up for a second, then goes out. The MacPro doesn't recognize that the camera is attached.

Has anyone else run into this before?

Thanks!!

Must be a bad adapter I have the same setup and works just fine. My 6-9 pin converter has a short wire lead so I can push the mac pro's rear tight to a wall, the no tail kind or adapter makes one have to have the mac pro 5 inches away from a rear wall or the connecter will get broken....as it is so long with the isight lead, plus adapter.
